We’re very fortunate to live in “America’s Finest City”, San Diego, California — which is also recognized as the “Craft Beer Capital of America”! San Diego’s brewing scene has exploded over the past two decades and more so recently since 2015, which provides a diverse array of brewery styles, sizes and vibes across the county.

Unique to San Diego, the merging of life sciences and lifestyles has strengthened industry growth, with companies producing brewing yeast for brewers locally and to other regions. More recently San Diego palates have been introduced to craft cider, craft mead and kombucha. Ciders are made much like craft beer with the traditional methods and infused with a variety of tasty flavors primarily apple, ginger, cinnamon, cucumber, and even passion fruit. Meads stand apart in its own rank of alcoholic beverage as it is fermented with honey, yeast and water. Kombuchas are a fermented, fizzy tea often flavored with fruit and spices which some beer enthusiasts have termed it the “healthy alcohol”.

San Diego is home to more than 170 brewhouses, cideries and meaderies making it one of the most concentrated regions for craft brewing in the country with newcomers popping up almost daily. A haven from our daily grind where good friends and entertaining conversations are only a glass away!
